Explore a Winery of Respected South African Lifestyle Experience
Cavalli Estate’s Sustainable Architecture Design
The winery is located in the prestigious Helderberg region of Stellenbosch in South Africa. Cavalli Estate offers its visitors a sophisticated South African Winelands ‘lifestyle’ experience. The owners pay much attention to the concept of sustainability. The entrance of the building is actually a vertical garden that complements indigenous landscaping. Natural light goes through the green wall of plants permeates the space and panoramic views abound.
Passion for Equestrian Art
The winery owns 100 hectares of land which includes an outdoor arena and an indoor arena for training horses. Cavalli is focused on respect & admiration for the exquisite beauty, power & harmony of our companions, the horses. The place where the horses rest is called here “art stable” – its design allows optimize human and animal interaction in a mutually beneficial way. The experience of visiting Cavalli Estate would be perfect for the family: you may enjoy a carriage tour in a couple or simply children can interact with horses, of course, under professional supervision.
Fresh South African Wines of the Winery
The Cavalli Estate has already proved to be one of the best representatives of South African winemaking. Here you can taste wines made of traditional for the country grape varietals and styles. Notably, Chenin Blanc is the King of white varietals which has floral, honey, and quince aromas. In the winery, you will find still fresh whites and traditional method South African sparkling – Cap Classique.

63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Malbec & 16% Petit Verdot .Grapes were hand-picked and sorted in the early morning at Cavalli. The Cabernet Sauvignon was fermented in stainless steel with 3-4 pumpovers daily. The Malbec and Petit Verdot were fermented in small open-top vessels with manual punchdowns 3-5 times daily. Batches were allowed up to 2 weeks of skin contact post-fermentation. After pressing, the wine completed malolactic fermentation in tank.Maturation took place in 225L French oak barriques for 22 months (approximately 35% first fill).Notes of fresh plum, blackforest cake and cedar spice. The wine shows a delicate mid-palate with a soft, rounded tannin that complements a well-balanced acidity.
